The Exterior
The M8 cabriolet gets a new facelift that adds a more aggressive tone. The front is classic BMW with an imposing hexagonal grille. Notice the camera in full view – BMW doesn’t try to hide it away. Two inlets on either side of the grille sport carbon fibre surrounds over the outer sides. Below the main grille is a large aerodynamic lip matching in carbon-fibre trims.
The flaring sides have arches that house 20-inch alloy wheels. Notice the bulging hood with two thick creases that flow back towards the windshield. It gives a thrill of the power of the engine hidden within.
The aggressive front and rear bumpers have an air curtain design that guides air to the brakes for cooling. At the back, you will find the traditional quartet of tailpipes. BMW fans will love the Icon Adaptive LED headlights with BMW Laserlight technology. Striking colours come in a choice of Brands Hatch Grey, Motegi Red, Donington Grey, Sonic Speed Blue, and the fabulous Marina Bay Blue.
The Interior
Leather and carbon-fibre trims add to the luxe effect of the cabin. The driver and front passenger sit in a pair of very sporty seats with automatic adjustments functions. The seats have a semi-electric folding function for easy entry and exit for rear-seat passengers. The back seats are ideal for smaller children but are a bit of a push for adults.
In the front between driver and passenger, is an imposing centre console that rises towards the dashboard. Most of the main control features, including those for the Audio System and Air Conditioning, are placed on this unit. Other functions are accessible through the 10.25-inch infotainment display at the top of the dashboard.
For open-air driving, a wind deflector can be setup in the rear-seat area to reduce turbulence. Neck warmers are also included in the front-seat head restraints. To keep the top down in cooler weather, you have a Heat Comfort Package with a heated steering wheel.
The Drive
This beauty creates shivers down your spine with its 4.4-litre, twin-turbocharged V-8 engine and 8-speed automatic transmission, sending power to all wheels via an M-tuned xDrive AWD system. It reaches top speeds of 250 km/h in limited mode and races from 0-100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds.
Everything on this model is adjustable. There are multiple drive modes and multiple options for the engine response, the gearbox response, and even the gas pedal. Try out the Road mode for a city drive or the Sports Mode for open-air sprint with the wind in your hair.
The Integrated Braking System offers two modes, Comfort and Sport, altering the force the car wants you to use when braking. His model defines the precise, powerful balance of everyday driving with motorsport-inspired performance.
